Are You Getting the Most Out of Your Chamber Membership?

To get the most out of your Chamber membership you must take advantage of the programs and services offered by the Chamber. A member may be disappointed in their membership and feel they didn’t make a good investment in their chamber dues. Your satisfaction can depend on your utilization of our services.

Have you sent your link to your business webpage to us to include on our webpage?

Have you included all your business contacts for us to post? Making it easier for potential customers to find you.

What about our extra promotional opportunities; in addition to your paid advertising the Chamber offers eblasts of your specials, sales, and events, plus posting on our Facebook page (you must send us the information by flyer, photo, or PDF form), just email, mail, or bring the information to us.

How about attending different educational programs the Chamber keeps you informed of?

Do you attending meetings and listen to scheduled speakers? Have a topic you would like to see covered at one of our meetings by a speaker? Let us know and we will try to set that up.

Our monthly Meet & Greet offers an evening opportunity to kick around ideas for future projects, socialize, hear interesting speakers to keep informed, and of course have refreshments served by our various hosting sites.

Your membership in the Chamber can be like joining a gym or fitness center, then not showing up for the sessions or doing the exercises. You don’t take advantage of the counseling sessions or other services offered by the club and feel you made a bad investment because you didn’t get the anticipated results. You get out of your Chamber membership what you put into it.

We hope you are ready to take advantage of our programs and networking opportunities, which will allow you to feel you have made a good investment in your Chamber membership this upcoming year.

We look forward to your involvement in the Chamber this year and thank you for investing in your Chamber, your county, and your community.

Missouri Employer Reporting Services

Missouri Employer Reporting Services assists employers with the federal and state new hire reporting requirements on behalf of the Missouri Department of Social Services, Family Support Division’s Child Support program. Please find attached important information about New Hire Reporting in the state of Missouri. It would be very helpful if you could share this information with your membership to increase general awareness of reporting laws and legal requirements for employers. New hire reporting expedites the collection of child support from parents who have changed jobs and helps to locate non-custodial parents to establish paternity and child support orders. We request that you distribute the information to your membership by including it in a newsletter article or placing it in a resource section on your website.

The attachment summarizes various methods of reporting and provides contact information for Missouri Employer Reporting Services. If you have questions, please visit our website at www.missouriemployer.dss.mo.gov or call Missouri Employer Reporting Services at 888-663-6751. Help desk staff are available to answer your questions Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Central Time.

Rising Star Business of the Quarter is Abbigayle's Children's Consignment & Formal Wear.

Abbigayle's is located at 207 First Street in Marble Hill and is owned and operated by Tina Woodfin with help from her kids Braidon, William, and Abbigayle. Tina started Abbigayle's about a year and a half ago in response to her need to do something with her 3 kids' stuff that was outgrown or no longer needed. Abbigayle's sells gently used children's items, clothing, boutique items, flip-flops, tutus, shirts, and hair bows. Abbigayle's is not just for little kids, they have a fine selection of formal gowns and tuxedo rentals for the older kids to get all dressed up for prom and other formal occasions. Stop by and check out Abbigayle's on Monday to Friday from 10a.m to 5p.m and on Saturday from 10a.m to 2p.m. Give Tina a call at 573-238-0051 for Abbigayle's.

Tina says her favorite part of her job is "Seeing the boys all dressed up! Tuxedo rentals are a lot of fun!" When asked about the most challenging part of her job Tina replied, "Keeping up with the organization." Keeping all her different merchandise inventoried and arranged in a pleasing manner takes a lot of time and time is something Tina has to juggle to be able to oversee her store plus Woodfin's Family Arcade next door at 205 First St. The arcade is a great place for kids to hang out after school and on weekends.

It features arcade style games and good food to eat. Tina has a full menu with daily lunch specials. Her menu includes burgers, appetizers, sandwiches, desserts, and drinks, plus fresh homemade bread, rolls, and pies daily! Call ahead orders are welcome. Woodfin's Family Arcade is open Tuesday thru Thursday from 11a.m to 5p.m and on Friday and Saturdays from 11a.m. to 7p.m. Call Woodfin's Family Arcade at 573-238-3351 to place a call ahead order.

Tina's plans for the future include opening a fitness center, NEW GET FIT FITNESS will open soon in the Woodfin's Family Arcade building beside Abbigayle's Children's Consignment & Formal Wear.

Tina feels it is important to belong to the Bollinger County Chamber of Commerce so businesses can share information with other businesses. Visit Abbigayle's and put your name in the drawing for a $25 gift certificate to be used at Abbigayle's!

Daniel feels the most challenging part of his job is dealing with the people. Daniel replied "We love the people but some put us in challenging situations. We have a Family Campground, some people come and do not want to follow the few simple rules that we have. Our Rules are not to difficult and are Good for Our Family Oriented Customers."
