Our Mission "Helping Others Learn to Grow"
The Master Gardener program is sponsored by University of Missouri Extension. Master Gardener members of all ages enjoy gardening, love plants and want to share what they have learned. They do this through teaching, helping others with gardening tasks, demonstrations, and answering questions. The Southeast Missouri Master Gardeners, each year, participate in educating communities through seminars and symposiums, in beautifying communities through work days, in volunteering time to community garden projects and various projects, in assisting fellow gardeners in plant diagnostics and in many different gardening tasks.
The Bollinger County Master Gardeners are hosting Master Gardener Level 1 Training at Bollinger County Coop in Marble Hill at 6:30 p.m. every Tuesday from February 27, 2007 until May 8,2007. There will be 11 sessions and each session will cover a different topic. We will cover topics such as Plant Anatomy, Soils, Annuals and Perennials, Vegetable Gardening, Insects, Diseases, Landscaping, Woody Ornamentals, Herb Gardening and Fruit Production. The course registration fee is $135 which includes a $50 deposit which is refundable upon completion of 30 volunteer hours that are required for completing the requirement to become a certified Master Gardener.
